多年生草本，高30-75厘米，具根状茎。茎直立，单生，被疏柔毛或无毛。下部叶在花期凋落；中部叶卵状长圆形，长5-10厘米，宽3-6厘米，羽状深裂，侧裂片4-6对，长圆形，先端尖，边缘具3-5齿；叶两面无毛或背面沿脉被白色柔毛；叶脉羽状；叶柄被短柔毛或无毛。头状花序6-14，排列成伞房状花序；花序梗长2-3厘米，被黄褐色短柔毛；总苞钟形，宽3-4毫米；总苞片10-13，卵状披针形，长6-7毫米，宽1-1.5毫米，先端尖，边缘膜质，背面被短毛。舌状花13，管部长2-3毫米，舌片黄色，线状披针形，长5-7毫米，宽1-1.5毫米；管状花多数，黄色，长4-4.5毫米，管部长2-2.5毫米，檐部5裂。瘦果圆柱形，长约1.5毫米，被短柔毛；冠毛白色，长4-5毫米。花期8月。
产鹤庆、昆明、保山、腾冲；生于海拔2200-2800米的林缘。模式标本采自腾冲。

Stems solitary, erect or ± flexuous, 30-75 cm tall, sparsely puberulent or glabrous. Basal and lower stem leaves shed by anthesis; median stem leaves petiolate; blade ovate-oblong, 5-10 × 3-6 cm, rather thickly herbaceous, glabrous or abaxially sparsely white pilose on veins, pinnatipartite with 3-5 lateral lobes on each side; lateral lobes subopposite or alternate, oblong, margin acutely coarsely (1-)3-5-dentate, apex acute or acuminate. Capitula (4-)15-30 in terminal subumbelliform corymbs, 1.5-2 cm across ray florets; peduncles 1.5-3(-4) cm, slender, sparsely fulvous puberulent. Involucres broadly campanulate or subhemispheric, 3-4 mm in diam.; phyllaries 10-13, subuniseriate to subbiseriate, oblong, ca. 5 × 1-1.5 mm, glabrous, with puberulent tips and scarious margins, obscurely 3-5-veined, apex acute or acuminate. Ray florets 7 or 8; corolla tube ca. 3 mm; lamina linear-oblong, 5-7 × 1-1.5 mm, 4-veined, apically 3-dentate. Disk florets many; corolla yellow, 4-4.5 mm, with tube ca. 2 mm and distinctly campanulate limb; lobes 5, equal, ovate-triangular. Anthers 1-1.2 mm, obtuse to rounded at base. Style branches ca. 0.7 mm. Achenes narrowly cylindric, 1.3-1.5 mm, minutely puberulent. Pappus persistent, 4-5 mm. Fl. Aug.
Mixed woods; 2200-2800 m. Yunnan.

根状茎粗壮，具多数纤维状根。茎单生，直立，或多少弯曲，高30-75厘米，不分枝，被疏短柔毛或无毛。基生叶及下部茎叶在花期凋落；中部茎叶具柄；叶片卵状长圆形，长5-10厘米，宽3-6厘米，羽状深裂，每边各有4-6侧裂片，较厚，草质，无毛或下面沿脉被疏白色柔毛；侧裂片近对生或互生，长圆形，顶端尖或渐尖，边缘具3-5个齿。头状花序6-14，排列成顶生或上部腋生。近伞形状伞房花序，径1.5-2几厘米；花序梗细，长2-3厘米，稍弯曲，被疏黄褐色短柔毛。总苞宽钟状，宽6-8毫米；总苞片10-13，近1层或近2层，卵状披针形，长6-7毫米，宽1.3-1.5毫米，顶端尖或渐尖，被短柔毛，草质，具干膜质边缘，不明显多脉，外面被短柔毛。舌状花约13，管部长2-3毫米，无毛，舌片黄色，线状披针形，长11-13毫米，宽1-1.5（2）毫米，具4条脉，顶端具3短齿；管状花多数，花冠黄色，长4-4.5毫米，管部长2-2.5毫米，檐部钟状；裂片5，等长，卵状三角形，长约1毫米，尖；花药长1-1.2毫米，基部钝至圆形；花柱分枝外弯，长0.6-0.7毫米，顶端截形，两侧被微毛。瘦果圆柱形，长1.3-1.5毫米，被短柔毛；冠毛白色，长4-5毫米，宿存。花期8月。
特产云南（腾冲、昆明、保山、鹤庆）。生于海拔2200-2800米的混交林中。模式采自云南腾冲。
林镕教授（1937）根据采自 Kwengming 县的标本（钟观光2121号）发表的变种 var. gracilior Lcing, 除植株较矮小及头状花序较大外，与本种的模式无明显差异，并入本种比较适宜。
